Final Four Set For Under-18’s Semi-Final Battles

The Under-18’s Australian Championships semi-finalists will be ready to do battle on Tuesday after enjoying Monday’s rest day following an exciting first week of competition in Hobart.

In the men’s division semi-finals, New South Wales State will face Western Australia at 8:30am at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.

Victoria will take on Queensland from 10:45am in the other semi-final for a spot in Wednesday’s decider scheduled to be played at 12:15pm.

NSW State and Victoria both finished with four wins and one draw in Pool A, while Queensland topped Pool B with an impressive goals tally, although they did drop one game. WA were Pool B runners-up with three wins and two defeats.

Queensland’s Noah Gauci and NSW State’s Connor Tuddenham are currently the top scorers with 10 goals each.

In the women’s division semi-finals, Queensland faces NSW State at 9:30am on Tuesday followed by NSW Blue against Victoria from 11:45am.

The winners will meet in Wednesday’s gold medal match at 10am on Wednesday.

Victoria topped Pool B with a perfect record, with Queensland and NSW State both recording four wins and one loss. NSW Blue scraped into the final four with eight points from five games.

Several players currently sit on top of the women’s scoring charts with four goals each, including Queensland’s Ruby Harris, NSW State’s Helena Tobbe, Victoria’s Sarah Moore, WA’s Neasa Flynn and Beatriz Monger-Molowny and ACT’s Samantha Bowles.
