HA Update On Fox Sports/Kayo Sports Coverage
Author: Ben Somerford
The match was planned and advertised to be live streamed on Kayo Sports, however HA now understands that it was a scheduling error that resulted in the game being broadcast on a delayed basis (versus live) and nothing to do with capacity issues as was incorrectly reported.
HA CEO Matt Favier said: “The moment we raised this with Fox Sports, every effort was made to rectify on the day, which resulted in the game eventually being broadcast within two hours of the actual match.
“While it was disappointing to our fans at the time who wanted to view the game live through Kayo Sports, Fox Sports have apologised sincerely and have reassured me that future matches will be broadcast as advertised.
“The coverage to date has been outstanding and the home matches have proven to be extremely exciting for fans at the game, as well as those who have engaged via Kayo and on Fox Sports.
“Without Fox Sports’ support Hockey fans would not be able to see any of the FIH Pro League and their support of the game from the FIH down, is appreciated.
“The partnership with Fox Sports and Kayo Sports offer a new era for hockey fans in Australia and we look forward to strengthening this relationship as we also anticipate the delivery of our new domestic league in October of this year.”
Australia's upcoming FIH Pro League matches against Argentina and New Zealand in Sydney on Saturday-Sunday 16-17 March will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports. Fox Sports' coverage of FIH Pro League will continue, either on delay or live
