Germany have won the bronze at the Junior World Cup, leaving the Australian under 21’s, the Burras with a devastating 3 – nil loss and fourth position at the tournament. 

The Burras were off to a great start with Kiran Arunasalam, Lachlan Sharp and Matthew Bird working hard to get the ball right in front of the Australian net only minutes in, but Germany’s defense came through in numbers and managed to get the ball out of the field of play.

The Australian Under 21’s national team, the Burras, are through to the semi-final of the Junior World Cup after a spectacular match up against the Netherlands saw them victorious with a 2 -1 score line. 

The first half of the game saw the Burras pressing the Netherlands to take ownership of the game, with ball changing possession many times before Australia took their chance in the 18th minute.

The Burras will head to the quarter finals of the Junior World Cup after crushing Korea 5 – 0 in their final pool match of the tournament.

The Australians controlled the match from the beginning with three goals locked away in the first quarter. Frazer Gerrard was first up with a field goal getting the Burras on track for the win.

The Australian Burras have dominated Austria 4 – 2 in their second pool match at the Junior World Cup in Lucknow, India today with the Aussies ruling the game from the opening minutes. 

Joshua Simonds kicked off the game for the Burras when he scored a field goal four minutes into the first half to force Austria to chase the Australians from the get go.

The Burras began their campaign at the Junior World Cup with a 2 – 1 win against Argentina tonight, after their initial game v Korea was postponed due to heavy fog in Lucknow, India. 

Australia started the game by putting intense pressure on Argentina, the Burras maintaining possession for much of the first half of the game. Twenty-one minutes into the match and Kiran Arunasalam kicked off the goal opportunities by flicking the ball at goal, but it was directly at keeper Emiliano Bosso who kicked it clear with ease.
